Nursery

Here are a few pics of the nursery.  We still have things to hang on the wall and hope to get that all finished this week but in the meantime here is a sneak peak.  The pics are kind of dark and the green looks a little lighter in person.

Closet

I have tons more clothes from my sister that I need to organize.  So much of it is stuff that I normally wouldn't hang up but since we have so much closet space and only a small dresser I need to figure out how to best use the space.   Time is running out so it is definately on my to do list for the next few days!

My Pregnancy - 34 Weeks

Hard to believe I will be 34 weeks on Wednesday and since I have been bad about blogging I thought this would be a good place to start updating.   (Picture is from 33.5 weeks and not very good)

How far along: 34 weeks

Size of baby: Average baby weight at 34 weeks is 4 and 3/4 pounds- the size of a cantaloupe!

Total weight gain/loss: +25-30 (ugh that sounds like a lot!!!)

Maternity clothes: Almost everything I wear is maternity. I have a couple of maxi type dresses that are non maternity that are working out rather well still.

Gender: It's a girl!  The boys are getting a little SISTER!

Movement:  She is moving like crazy!  When I am relaxing in the evenings, you can see so much movement on the outside it looks like a party is going on in there.

Sleep: Still ok.  Getting up 2-3 times to go to the bathroom and waking up in the night achy and needing to switch positions but still getting good rest for the most part.

What I miss: Nothing too much.  I miss the occasional glass of wine.

Cravings:  Still ice cream and watermelon.  I cannot get enough.

Symptoms: Heartburn, mostly at night when I lay down.  Also, lower back and belly pain and tailbone pain.

Fun Purchases: A couple more adorable outfits!  I love shopping for girl stuff!

Surprises: That I have made it to 34 weeks complication free and also how fast time is flying by.

Best Moment this week: Tomorrow we will be exactly one month away from our scheduled c-section!!!

Dates:
Next Dr. appointment  Thursday 8.18.2011
C section 9.16.2011

Emersyn Joy will be here in 1 month!!!

Nursery Bedding

Well, after much deliberation and searching, we finally have the bedding for the baby's room.

The bedding is from Pottery Barn, and I think it will work out perfectly.  I did not want anything with butterflies or flowers and debated whether to even do pink.  I decided that this will probably be the only girl I will ever have and that I should take that into consideration.

Instead of buying the bedding set, I decided to buy the pieces separately and not buy the crib bumper. We didn't use bumpers with the boys because it is recommended that you don't because of suffocation/SIDS, etc. I thought I might try it anyway this time around, but since it saved me almost $90 to go without I decided it was worth it.

So now the big dilemma is paint colors.  My parents will be here this weekend and are bringing the crib (big thanks to my wonderful sis) and my dad said he would help with the painting project.   Currently the room has a chair rail, which I think we will plan to keep, although it may need to be fixed a little as it wasn't done well the first time.  With the chair rail, I want to do two different colors, one on top and one on bottom.  I want the room to be semi-neutral and didn't want to do pink or green on the walls.  I do like the colors in the nursery picture above.  I think the top may be a very pale green, and then maybe do white on the bottom?  Or flip it and do white on top and green on bottom since the white crib will be more on the bottom half of the wall (so it's not white on white).  Also, I always love any colors in the taupe/beige color family, but not so sure that would work with the bedding and since the crib is white and the bedding has white in it, I don't think I could do anything off white or creamy.  For some reason this decision has been making me crazy and I just can't think about it anymore.  So give me your opinions please, as I have to make a decision in the next few days!

My Pregnancy - 23 Weeks

I have seen the quiz below on several different blogs,(specifically my cousin's) and since I am lacking inspiration on what to write about next, I've decided to try it out.   I am not planning on doing it every week, just on occasion if something changes or something exciting is happening.  Also, I'll post some pics of the bump soon!

How far along: 23 weeks

Size of baby: The baby is about the size of a mango, approximately 1 pound and 11 inches long

Total weight gain/loss: +15-16  Hopefully I'll only gain about 10-15 more pounds which keeps to 25-30 total.  We shall see.  Either way it should be alot less than the 40+ pounds that I gained with the boys!

Maternity clothes: Almost everything I wear is maternity.  It's been really hot here so I think I am going to need to invest in a few more sundresses and tank tops.

Gender: It's a girl!  The boys are getting a little SISTER!

Movement: Her punches and kicks are becoming harder everyday!  I've even seen a few movements on the outside

Sleep: So far so good!  I've been sleeping really well with a body pillow and usually getting up only once to go to the bathroom.

What I miss: Nothing too much.  I don't drink too much soda so that hasn't been an issue and I've still been having 1ish cups of coffee a day so I'm good there.   I do miss being able to have a glass of wine on occasion.

Cravings: ICE CREAM!  Always ice cream.  Fresh fruit, specifically watermelon.  I cannot get enough. Cheese.

Symptoms: Pretty mild.  I have started having heartburn in the past few weeks, mostly at night when I lay down.  Also, some lower back pain and tailbone pain.

Fun Purchases: I bought a couple of new maternity t shirts to get me through the summer and an adorable dark purple onesie that says, "Daddy's little girl".  :)

Surprises: How different this pregnancy is than being pregnant with the boys.  I was on bedrest with multiple complications by this point and laying around all day so there were less aches and pains.  It's definately different to be complication free (so far) and be chasing two kiddos with a big old belly.  Some days it's exhausting.

Best Moment this week: A completely uneventful doctor's appointement.  Nothing to worry about,  he says everything is great.  So wonderful to hear after last time around.  Also, another week closer to viability!

I am excited that we've finally settled on a name.  Emersyn Joy.  John is 100% sure and while I love it, I just want to make sure nothing else hits me in the next few weeks.

Dates:
Next Dr. appointment 6.28.11  I'll be 27 weeks!

Over halfway there!  September is coming!

Recent Happenings...

We had the boys' 18 month well visit with the pediatrician and I am very happy to report that they are right on track developmentally.  Physically they are both tall and thin.  I asked the doc if they were so thin because of their prematurity and the fact that they are still catching up and he said he thinks they that they just have a thinner body type and is not the least bit concerned.  They are still eating like crazy, gaining weight and following their own growth curves.  Basically, they are average to above average in height for kids their actual age and below average for weight)
Their stats are as follows:

Johnathan
Birth weight 4lb 6oz
Current weight 23lb 2.5oz
Current height 33.5in

Jacob
Birth weight 3lb 10oz
Current weight 23lb 5.5oz
Current height 32.75in

In other news, we have a busy week ahead.   We have a zoo/library trip with friends tomorrow, and miscellaneous errands and packing to get ready for my trip on Thursday, among many other things.  I am flying out Thursday morning for a wedding and won't be back until Sunday!  My best friend from high school is getting married in Minneapolis.  I will also get to see my parents, sister and nieces along with some extended family.  I am excited and can't wait for some time away.  However, I am not looking forward to leaving my boys (all 3 of them!) for that long.  My biggest concern is for them and that they will wonder where I am and that I won't be there when they wake up in the morning.  I've only ever left them overnight, but John does an amazing job with them though so I know that it will be fine.

Lastly, baby girl is doing well.  I am 21 weeks now so over half way there!  Doc said he'll schedule my c-section at 39 weeks (September 21) if I haven't had her by then.  She is moving around more and more everyday and the movements are getting stronger.  I'm looking forward to John being able to feel her on the outside in the next week or so!

Happy Monday!

Enjoying the weather

Yesterday was one of the first nice mornings we've had so far.  We took advantage of the warmer temp and played outside.  These photos are my very first attempt with the new camera.

Johnathan

The boys loved being outside.  I've been thinking a lot about what kind of fun outdoor toys and things we can buy for them to play with this summer.  Any suggestions?
